Leaving it to the last day!

If you’re planning on moving house or have items to ship overseas, and you need to order some packing boxes and packaging materials, then please don’t leave your order to the last day!

Based on many years of experience and having served thousands of customers, we regularly get customers who haven’t left enough time to order and receive their packaging requirements in time and so it all rides on everything running like clockwork on the last day, which unfortunately doesn’t always work.

A number of issues can arise, an item you’ve ordered could be out of stock or there may not be enough time to process your order, especially if you order many packaging items and it’s close to our dispatch cut-off time of 3pm.

Furthermore, once the goods have been collected by our courier, we cannot guarantee that they will be delivered the next day. This is because, any national courier handles a very large volume of goods and sometimes parcels can be temporarily misplaced or missorted and sent to the wrong depot internally, in which case it may take an additional day for the goods to be delivered.

Further delays can arise if customers are not in when a delivery attempt is made. So please do provide us with any special delivery instructions where possible, so that the goods can be left in a secure location on your premises or with a neighbour. We hope you understand that once the goods have left our premises, they are in the hands of a third party and outside of our control. Whilst we will endeavour to chase up orders that haven’t been delivered on time, we can’t work ‘miracles’ and ask for your patience and understanding.

This brings us nicely on to why you need to give yourself plenty of time when ordering your packaging needs and to allow for any unexpected delays and, of course, the Bank Holidays.

When it comes to moving house, you may have a lot of items to pack in which case spreading your packing over a period of time would be the best option. You could order one of our moving packs or a selection of our packing boxes and then simply top up as required. We also stock an extensive range of protective packaging materials and bubble wrap, as well as tapes.

If you have items to ship and are looking for large cardboard boxes, then we have a wide range of sizes for you to choose from, whether it’s our tea chest boxes, large boxes, cubed boxes, heavy duty boxes, or even our jumbo boxes measuring up to 1m cubed. We try to keep plenty of these large cardboard boxes in stock, but because they take up a lot of space, we can find ourselves a bit short on occasion for some customers. Therefore, ordering well in advance of your shipping date would allow us to replenish stock in time and keep everyone happy!
